Mohammad Ajmal Rahimy is the Program Development Director of the Comprehensive Agriculture and Rural Development – Facility (CAFD-F). He has diverse educational background with more than 10 years of work experience with various national and international organizations mostly in agriculture, environment and rural development sectors. He has successfully completed his BSc. (Honors) in Agriculture from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan in 2001. He gained his first master degree in Public Policy from Korean Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management, Seoul South Korea in 2003 and second master degree in Natural Resources Management (NRM) from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Bangkok, Thailand in 2009.
Rahimy was awarded with various Scholarships during his undergraduate (DAFI scholarship) and master degrees (Korean Government Scholarship in 2002 and Norway & Netherlands government scholarships in 2007-09). He has attended various formal training courses and workshops in leadership, project management and other technical areas in national and international platforms.
Rahimy joined CARD-F in May 2010 as a CARD-F Project Analyst. Soon his potential was realized and he got promoted to Deputy Operations Director position and then to Program Development Director. He has served in many development agencies such as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in collaboration with Ministry of Irrigation, Agriculture and Livestock (MAIL) and National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) in the capacities of Environmental Specialist, National Deputy Coordinator (Programmatic), Programme coordinator and Project Manager. Furthermore, he also worked in the Central Bank of Afghanistan (DAB) as a Capital Note Manager and Market Operations Analyst. Whereas, his first appointment as a regular employee was as an Assistant Expert and Information Analyst in the Directorate of Social Services Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) contracted by Return of Qualified Afghan (RQA) Project of International Organization of Migration (IOM) in 2002.
