Background:
Balkh Mini Poultry (BMP) EDP is a poultry value chain project aiming to develop poultry value chain in Balkh province. Its components include establishment of 10 broiler farms, 1 breeder farm, 4 layer farms, 250 SSL farms, 1 feed mill, 1 poultry clinic and 1 poultry associations. This project is being implemented by CARD-F Implementing Unit (IU). The implementation of this project started in July 2015 and was planned to end in June 2017. CARD-IU continues provision of extension services.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to increase rural income, create rural employment opportunities and stimulate private sector investment in poultry value chain in Balkh province.
