Economic Development Package Kabul

Background:

EDP Kabul is poultry and horticulture value chain based project focusing on development of these value chains in Kabul. The poultry component of this project includes establishment of 30 new broiler farms, 2 breeder farms, 2 hatchery farms, 1 Feed Mill and . The Greenhouse component of the project includes establishment of 132 greenhouses, training of farmers and facilitating market linkages aiming the development of protected agriculture value chain. The project is being implemented by CARD-F IU. Implementation of EDP Kabul started in October 2015 and its initial end date was March 2017. The project is extended until December 2017.

Objective:

The objective of this project is to increase rural income, create rural employment opportunities and stimulate private sector investment in poultry and horticulture value chain in Kabul province.
