Economic Development Package Khost

Background:

Khost Mini EDP is developed based on key agricultural and rural development opportunities. The Intervention is implemented by CARD-F in four districts of Khost province (Matun, Nadirshah kot, Tanai and Mandozai Ismayelkhel) and the implementation started on January 2016. The intervention aims development of 3 value chains (Poultry, Apiculture and Greenhouses). The poultry component includes establishment of 1 breeder farm (10K capacity), 1 hatchery farms (158K capacity), 20 broiler farms (5K capacity), 1 poultry clinic and 1 poultry market with 20 shops. The apiculture component of the project includes establishment of 100 honey bee farms and the establishment of 1 honey processing plant with the capacity of one MT/day. The greenhouse component is of the EDP includes the establishment of 150 spans of greenhouse. The project is expected to end in June 2017.

Objective:

The objective of this project is to increase rural income, create rural employment opportunities and stimulate private sector investment in poultry, apiculture and vegetables sectors in Khost province.
