Grape And Pomegranate Economic Development Package

Background:

Grape and Pomegranate EDP focuses on development of grape and pomegranate value chains in Dand, Daman and Arghandab districts of Kandahar. The intervention includes establishment of 30 Kishmish Khanas in two different capacities, establishment of 1 fruit processing plant, trellising of 150 jeribs of vineyard, and supporting 300 Jeribs of pomegranate orchards by distribution of pomegranate input packages. Implementation of this project started in July 2016 and is expected to end in October 2017. The project is being implemented by CARD-F IU.

Objective:

The objective of this project is to increase rural income, create rural employment opportunities and stimulate private sector investment in Grapes and Pomegranate sectors in Kandahar province.
