National Poultry Value Chain

Background:

As the name suggests, National Poultry Value Chain Project is a poultry value chain project which was designed based on key agriculture and rural development opportunities. The intervention includes the establishment of 6 broiler breeder farms with a capacity of 30,000 birds and 6 hatchery farms with capacity of 316,000 eggs, 21 broiler farms with a capacity of 25,000 broiler birds, 4 poultry complex consisting of 50 shops each, 1 poultry clinic and 300 SSL farms. The project implementation started in July 2016 and it is expected to end in June 2018. The project is being implemented by CARD-F IU.

Objective:

The objective of this project is to increase rural income, create rural employment opportunities and stimulate private sector investments in the poultry value chain in overall Afghanistan.
